Mytheresa Checkout
In this project we did a full redesign of the checkout flow. With a focus on streamlining the process and increasing convenience and efficiency for the users.
The previous checkout layout had become very outdated, with lots of unnecessary steps and overall a confusing experience for the users.
Research
At the point we started this project, there was no User Reasearch team within Mytheresa, which is why we had to base our research around previously collected data like heatmaps and A/B tests, and contrast it with articles and benchmarks of our competitors.
Overall our research highlighted a need to shorten the overall process for our users, and to put more focus on accessibility, so all fields and fine-print were clear and readable, without being perceived as overwhelming.

Design
The final design ended up being very clean and minimal, depreciating old-fashioned components like radio-buttons, and prioritising that every element had a big enough tappable area.
We merged as many sections as possible and devided the whole process in five steps:
Log in, Address, Payment, Overview and Thank you Page.
With most customers seeing only the Overview and Thank you page, and only new customers going through all five.
